Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solutions announced the addition of a new open access (OA) publishing option for authors submitting original research articles to the Adis line of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy journals. OA articles will only be published online, and are accessible on AdisOnline and Ovid to read, copy, share and distribute for non-commercial purposes. This is the first time in 40 years that the Adis journals will be available without a pay-per-view or subscription model. The 16 Adis titles will still be subject to rigorous peer review prior to publication.

While OA publishing enables authors to get peer-reviewed research results into the public domain very quickly, this can be done in as little as three to four weeks for authors who select the optional Adis Rapid Publication Service under Wolter Kluwer's OA model. Some of the most notable Adis journals include Clinical Pharmacokinetics, CNS Drugs, Drug Safety, and Drugs. The first Adis journal to offer OA delivery was Drugs in R&D last year. Wolters Kluwer, parent company of the Adis collection of medical journals, provides professionals in the pharmaceutical and biotech fields with scientific information and analytics.
