United Press International to Launch New Product Lines

United Press International has launched a new product line offering analytical information targeted at business and political professionals. Based on its market research, UPI plans to highlight what it considers its core competencies; better package its content solutions; and soon launch four new analytical segmented products addressing Intelligence, Security, Health Business, and Technology Issues.

Subscribers may continue their access to the original English, Spanish, and Arabic language products, and photos from UPI's expanded Newspictures service with broader coverage of entertainment, sports, and international affairs. As part of the reorganization, UPI will discontinue its product "Perspectives" and therefore must eliminate 14 positions. While new products are expected to be launched in the first quarter of this fiscal year, additional industry level products are currently under development and are expected to enter the R&D stage next year.
