GeoLearning, Inc., a provider of hosted learning management systems and elearning content, has announced that the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) has selected the GeoMaestro learning management system and elearning delivery platform to manage agency-wide etraining. The SSA's elearning program is part of the federal government's Gov Online Learning Center eTraining Initiative. The deployment of GeoLearning's hosted LMS solution will provide SSA's 65,000 employees with access to career development resources, including elearning courses on business skills, information security, desktop computer applications, and IT certifications.

The GeoMaestro LMS offers registration, tracking, and reporting functionality essential for the delivery and management of learning, development, and knowledge acquisition necessary to increase productivity and speed to performance. The GeoLearning LMS is also compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires all federal agencies to implement information technology accessible to persons with disabilities.  The Gov Online Learning Center (GOLC), which is also powered by GeoLearning's GeoMaestro hosted platform, provides access to etraining services for more than 1.8 million people employed by the federal government. The e-Training Initiative and GOLC is an effort by the Office of Management & Budget and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to simplify and unify etraining services across federal government and is one of 24 egovernment initiatives that support President George W. Bush's Management Agenda.
