The Wikimedia Foundation and Telefónica have formed a strategic partnership to improve access to Wikimedia educational and informational content in Latin America and Europe.

Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization that operates Wikipedia, presides over the fifth-most popular web property in the world, with 14 million articles available in 270 languages that pull in 347 million unique visitors per month, according to comScore Media Metrix.

Telefónica, a Spanish telecommunications company with a presence in 25 countries and a customer base that contributes to 268 million accesses around the world, most of them in the European and Latin American markets that Wikimedia is so eager to access.
