Press+, which provides monetization solutions for publisher (mostly in the form of metered pay walls) has announced a new solution for entertainment and news entities that focuses on monetizing video content. According to The Wrap, Courtroom View Network-and online service that streams courtroom video-launched the Press+ solution which allows viewers to watch a few minutes before they are asked to pay.
As video becomes an increasingly important part of content strategy, figuring out how to monetize it also becomes more important. "It strikes me that video producers -- in entertainment, news and everything in between -- are realizing the same thing magazines and newspapers realized a few years ago," Steven Brill, co-founder of Press+ told TheWrap. "You ain't gonna make it on advertising revenue alone; you are going to need to get people to pay for content."
