The Publishers Information Bureau (PIB) announced that total PIB advertising pages and rate-card-reported revenue saw increases 3Q 2010. This marks an increase in magazines' PIB growth for the second consecutive quarter. PIB revenue closed out at $4,780,761,600, showing a 5.3% increase compared to the same July-December period in 2009. PIB also recorded 40,387.55 ad pages in the third quarter, an increase of 3.6% from the same period in 2009.
Of the ad categories recorded by PIB, automotive advertising and technology posted the largest increases in both revenue and pages. Other data reported includes 136 magazines showing an 3Q increase in ad pages compared with 25 in 2009, and 132 titles showing 3Q revenue increase as opposed to 27 in the same period last year.
