New Social Network Brings Travelers and Destinations, Experts Together

A new social platform,, connects travelers with one another as well as new destinations and travel experts. The site is currently in beta, has 1,500 registered members so far, and is expected to officially launch in May. TouristLink is a free service, and users can create an account on the site or through Facebook.

TouristLink provides a list of the top attractions in any city; this list is based on member rankings and reviews. Members can create lists of their favorite destinations and share with friends, suggest new attractions for other travelers, and post photos of cities they've traveled to in the past. When a user books a trip through the site, TouristLink charges a 10% fee.

Travel experts are reportedly screened by TouristLink as to confirm their identity before allowing them into the TouristLink system. Each expert featured on the site is ranked based on his or her rates, offered services, and how active they are.
