The National Library of Russia (NLR), located in St. Petersburg, will adopt Ex Libris Ltd.'s Aleph integrated library system for the management of the library's vast print and digitized collections.
Aleph will replace numerous locally developed systems NLR currently uses. NLR and Ex Libris entered the agreement to increase efficiency, help librarians meet users' needs, and strengthen the NLR's role as a research and Russian studies resource.
NLR joins 25 other national libraries across the globe that deploy Aleph. The National Library of Russia is the oldest public library in Russia and houses over 36 million items, of which 15 million are books.
