McGraw-Hill Medical Publishing, a unit of McGraw-Hill Professional, has unveiled Harrison's Online version 3.0, designed to provide clinicians, students, and information managers the answers they need in their daily work. Harrison's search capabilities have been improved in an effort to increase both speed and accuracy, including a greater ability to deliver exact topic hits and related topics of interest.
Harrison's Online offers content downloads to PDA devices, including daily updates that are highlighted in the new user interface. In addition, Version 3.0 offers access to more content through enhancements to the AccessMedicine library. The Library enables users to link to contents from other McGraw-Hill medical brands and connect to additional pages of data across the basic sciences and the spectrum of internal medicine. In addition, Harrison's Online subscribers can earn Category 1 CME credits by listening to its Grand Round Lectures and passing a quiz based on content located on the Harrison's Online site.
Harrison's Online is part of McGraw-Hill's AccessMedicine, a Web resource for medical reference information. AccessMedicine's core content consists of reference works in internal medicine, cardiology, genetics, and basic and clinical sciences. These include the Lange educational library of basic science and clinical reference texts, The Metabolic and Molecular Bases of Inherited Disease, Hurst's The Heart, and Current Medical Diagnosis & Treatment. AccessMedicine also provides daily news updates, changes in clinical practice guidelines, current drug information, self assessment tools, commentaries, and audio lectures.
