The MAPILab Company has released MAPILab Groupware Server v 1.1.0, a groupware solution for Microsoft Outlook. MAPILab Groupware Server is used for sharing any Outlook folders with a team in real-time mode without using Microsoft Exchange Server. The program allows creating and managing public contacts, calendars, tasks, journals, notes, and message folders.
The program provides real-time common access to shared stores and folders, as well as all necessary features for managing access permissions. From the user's point of view, the folders of MAPILab Groupware Server look like and act the same as the shared folders of Microsoft Exchange Server. When a new item is created in the shared folder, the user will see it on the computer and will be able to expand and modify according to the current permissions.
Main features of MAPILab Groupware Server, include: the program's ability to work with all items of Microsoft Outlook: users can create and use public mail folders, public contact folders, public calendars, public task folders, public notes folders, and public journals; the ability to use MAPI protocol, which allows users to work together in real time; no dedicated computer needed for installing the server part of the program; the server management is carried out with the help of a special program, the administrator's rights can be given to one or several users; and no system administrator skills are required for deploying and using the program. One client access license costs $49 and a 30-day trial is available.
