Knight Foundation to Support Investigative Journalism Fund

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the institution of journalism, announced a grant of $200,000 to The Huffington Post Investigate Fund. Established this fall to promote the merging of traditional media and new media in the production of investigative reporting, the Fund has produced more than 50 stories so far, including 20 videos. These stories have covered such topics as the lack of regulation in the credit rating industry and the subprime mortgage crisis and been featured in more than 40 publications, including the Huffington Post, with which the fund is affiliated.
