Intraspect Software, Inc., a provider of enterprise collaboration solutions, has announced the general availability of the Intraspect Connector for Microsoft's Project Server 2002. The connector is designed to extend the value of Intraspect's Project Delivery/PMO Solution by allowing organizations to also access Project Server 2002 from one user interface.

Intraspect introduced the Project Delivery/PMO solution to provide employees and third parties with Web-based workspaces, collaboration tools, and dashboards to improve project team productivity and efficiency. The new connector enables customers to enhance Intraspect's solution with the project and program management features of Microsoft, including budgeting, resource management, scheduling, and task management functionality.

The connector is a Web-based solution, which enables users to collaborate across heterogeneous environments, and it has built-in extranet capabilities for secure access to project workspaces from outside firewall boundaries for external team members. Within each workspace, all relevant documents are captured, managed, and distributed to team members, and users can search across project workspaces. Tasks and issues are centralized in a single workspace to be initiated, worked on, and resolved while kept in context such as decisions, email discussions, design, and implementation documents. Team calendaring and task management features track team activities and deliverables, and project dashboards provide graphic indicators of project and program status. The workspaces can also be configured to capture the milestones and process flows of in-house, or standardized project methodologies such as CMM and Six Sigma.
