InterSystems, PMP Release Survey on Integration

Oct 18, 2005

Research by PMP and InterSystems has found that while 90% of organizations view the integration of different systems as important, one third (34%) of actual integration projects are only happening case-by-case rather than on a strategic basis. The findings, published in an industry report entitled ‘Tying IT Together', are based on a survey of 94 executives representing large organizations in a cross-section of industries. They highlight the fact that UK companies need to think more strategically and long-term about their integration plans in order to maximize return on existing investment and derive the true benefits of integration--including better control over business processes and more timely data sharing. The research also reveals that for 93% of respondents, where integration software has indeed been implemented effectively, felt it has provided real business benefits to the organization.
