Ingenta, Inc., a provider of online publishing services to academic and professional publishers, reports three new signings for late spring, bringing the total number of its publisher accounts to more than 240. In addition to providing an online journal service via Ingenta.com and IngentaSelect.com, Ingenta builds publisher-branded Web sites for its clients and journal Web sites ranging from branded home pages to customized stand alone Web sites. New signings include: the American Sociological Association, the American Pharmacists Association, and National Association of Social Workers. Ingenta has been selected to deliver the American Sociological Association's (ASA) publications to customers throughout the world. Understanding ASA's specific and immediate business objectives, Ingenta also has been able to work with ASA's existing production process, enabling the publisher to retain control over all pricing decisions, protecting existing print business and secure access control, while also offering reference-linking capabilities. ASA will have nine journals on Ingenta in 2004. ASA, founded in 1905, is a non-profit membership association dedicated to advancing sociology as a scientific discipline and profession. Ingenta has been appointed by The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) to create an online presence for its publication, The Journal of the American Pharmacists Association. The APhA is a professional association of pharmacists in the United States providing professional information and education for pharmacists and an advocate for improved health of the American public through the provision of pharmaceutical care. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) has selected Ingenta to create a customized Web site that will both serve existing NASW members and subscribers and increase international distribution and reach of the association's journals. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
