IBM expanded its line of WebSphere products with several new offerings intended to develop its middleware portfolio and aid clients in establishing more dynamic business networks. The products combine IBM's business process management capabilities and service-oriented architecture to create flexible solutions for companies.

WebSphere Industry Solutions is a suite of programs that aids companies in understanding and streamlining business processes, comprising offerings such as WebSphere Industry Content Packs, WebSphere Transformation Extended, and BMP BlueWorks cloud-based business process management tools. Addressing issues of business connectivity are the WebSphere Business Events and Extreme Scale v7 products, which enable businesses to detect, evaluate, and respond to large volume real-time event activity.

IBM also announced that it will add several products from its acquisition of enterprise software developer ILOG. Foremost among these is IBM WebSphere ILOG JRules 7.0, which helps clients manage complex sets of business rules and includes improvements for managing and automating legacy application decisions.
