IBM Acquires Unica

IBM is set to acquire Unica Corporation, a publicly held marketing software company based in Waltham, Mass. Unica will be acquired by IBM at a rate of $21 per share, or a rough net total of $480 million. IBM plans to utilize Unica's resources to help organizations more effectively predict customer preferences and create targeted marketing campaigns. The acquisition is currently expected to close in 4Q 2010.
