HiSoftware, a provider of software, services, and managed operation solutions that monitor and optimize web content governance, quality, and regulatory compliance, has released Compliance Sheriff, a hosted management solution that provides testing and reporting for standards-based policies including accessibility and privacy. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff was designed to allow organizations to integrate a comprehensive and automated solution for managing web governance standards as part of a corporate risk management strategy.

HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff was developed to provide organizations with a solution that enables automated content compliance, and help lessen risk management exposure by ensuring that websites meet compliance standards. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff allows users to define and conduct custom tests for an organization's policies without costly programming or consulting. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff's Dashboard Reporting feature offers multiple reporting levels for reviewing website status, designed to allow management to review high-level statuses while developers view pass or fail details for remediation. The result is a report on a website's quality and policy compliance that can be shared with the various groups responsible for web governance. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff's streamlined architecture provides performance, designed to allow reports for even very large sites to be output in minutes. Using a web-based interface that can run on any browser, HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff is designed to enable users to share reports and results with colleagues via the web. Managed remotely through its web-based interface, content can be scanned on-demand or set up for scheduled reporting based on a number of user-preferences. As a hosted server solution that can be configured, HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff provides users with the ability to schedule scans and verify content daily, weekly, or monthly.

HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff's modules allow users to test for standards-based and custom factors including: Accessibility Compliance module can report on Section 508, WCAG 1.0 and WCAG 2.0, CLF, XAG and any standard derived from WCAG or Section 508; Privacy Policy Compliance module can report on a number of multi-national regulatory and compliancy standards including: Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), Children's Online Privacy Act (COPPA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), US Privacy Act, and other key US and international standards; Custom Guideline and Policy Compliance for all content including but not limited to: HTML, XHTML, SVG, XML and any other text or element based content. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff provides an integrated digital Dashboard Reporting System that provides access to executive level summary reports so that company executives, compliance managers, IT, and marketing can obtain status reports within the application interface. Streamlined report viewers within the Dashboard Reporting System are designed to allow users to test pages for optimal performance under variable end-user scenarios, and a customizable interface shows users just the results that interest them most. The Dashboard also provides email notifications that can be scheduled to occur at any frequency, regardless of how often scans are run. Custom Checkpoint Editor was designed to allow users to define and validate against accessibility, privacy, and other custom checks that are required by your organization. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff provides scan definition, with the ability to bundle multiple domains into a single scan and schedule scans to run at almost any frequency. The scanning engine can also automatically follow almost all types of links on a page, including those that are embedded inside JavaScript code.

HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff has the ability to track every file, no matter what platform the web server might be, and reports can be generated for all files or just the files that fail programmatic checkpoints. Additionally, when presented with a list of line numbers or position numbers in a page where a problem occurs, HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff is designed to enable users to click on that link to show the source HTML, with the problem highlighted. HiSoftware Compliance Sheriff is available immediately through HiSoftware and its authorized resellers as a hosted server solution. Solutions start at $4,995 for SMB offerings to $25,000 per module.
