Ephox has introduced enhancements to their browser-based authoring software products - EditLive! for Windows 3.0 and EditLive! for Java 3.0. With these releases, Ephox aims to further enable non-technical users to easily contribute content to content management systems and other content-driven applications.
EditLive! for Java 3.0 delivers a cross-platform solution across Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Sun Solaris. Ephox is also now offering support for Apple's new Safari browser. EditLive! for Java 3.0's multiplatform support has been incorporated EditLive! into many CM applications including Stellent, FileNet, Vignette, Interwoven, and Ingeniux.
EditLive!'s enhanced capabilities include: Faster performance via a new threading architecture that improves load-time performance; Cascading style sheets (CSS) can now be applied to content with improved rendering; Table editing, which enables changing properties across multiple cells and vertical or horizontal merging along with an upgraded table rendering engine that closely matches the HTML output.
EditLive! for Java 3.0 is available in multiple languages. An evaluation version can be downloaded at Ephox's site.
