Elsevier and Ex Libris Offer Mutual Customers bX Recommendations

Oct 26, 2011

Elsevier B.V. collaborated with Ex Libris Group to deliver a bX article recommender application to mutual customers. The bX recommendations suggest further reading based on researchers' usage data, and will be available for integration with the Elsevier SciVerse interface. Users will see bX recommendations in addition to articles from Elsevier's Scopus and ScienceDirect databases.

Dedicated to scholars and used in more than 1,000 academic institutions, bX is a service that provides article recommendations generated by an analysis of hundreds of millions of usage logs contributed by users of Ex Libris SFX OpenURL link resolver who also subscribe to bX. Integrated with SFX and Ex Libris' Primo solution, bX is a cloud-based service which can also be integrated with other systems through an API. Companies that are customers of both Elsevier and Ex Libris can contact their regional Elsevier help desks in order to access the bX application.
