Northeastern University has decided to adopt EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), an integrated, customizable index to assist its library in more easily cataloguing and accessing its collection. In addition to a unified interface, EDS offers features to both increase the scope of and simplify the research experience. Northeastern University plans to work with EBSCO over the next several months to add the university's local digitized content and Institutional Repository into EDS, which will further expand the service's capabilities.

EBSCO Publishing has also acquired two databases, Criminal Justice Abstracts and Communications Abstracts, from SAGE. Both are now available on EBSCOhost. The two databases, put together, have more than 400,000 records, all of which are cross-searchable with other platforms. Criminal Justice Abstracts includes bibliographic records covering areas related to criminal justice and criminology, while Communications Abstracts covers major journals in communication and mass media.
