Search marketing agency, Covario, released its newest Global Paid Search Spend Analysis report on online advertising. According to this report, Covario found that spending on online search advertising in the second quarter of 2012 by the company's enterprise technology, consumer electronics, and retail clients was up about 17% from the second quarter of last year.
In addition, the report found that there was a 5% increase from the first quarter to the second quarter of this year. The bulk of the 17% increase comes from US and Canadian spending, whereas Europe had only a 2% increase in the second quarter. The company believes that Europe is still trying to recover from last year's economic downturn as the reason for the small growth. Looking ahead, Covario sees growth continuing for the remainder of the year.
