The Associated Press (AP) and live video broadcasting service Bambuser AB penned an agreement that allows Bambuser users to share newsworthy video via the AP. The AP will be able to access and use Bambuser content that it vets, verifies and considers newsworthy.
Bambuser users can distribute content to the AP via settings on their dashboard. As part of the arrangement with Bambuser, the AP also will explore use of Bambuser's live video platform as a newsgathering tool for AP journalists.
According to Bambuser, more of its users are utilizing handheld devices to capture news stories to share on their blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks. In the past, users had provided AP with live feeds of fighting inside Syria, the companies report.
