API Enables ChaCha Q&A Service on Websites, Apps

Feb 19, 2010

The free service ChaCha, which provides quick answers to users' questions, launched three APIs to developers that will provide access to the service's database of questions and answers through any website or application. The three APIs allow developers to access the database for quick responses, display the most popular questions and answers under a given topic, and find out popular topics and questions across the service.

ChaCha's database of questions and answers is updated in near-real time to provide insight into users' questions, which arrive via SMS and a web browser interface. With the new APIs, publishers are able to customize questions and answers around specific topics, guiding the real-time updates to specific topics that will interest readers of the website. The three APIs are also designed to compliment the recently released Facebook, iPhone, and Twitter applications from the service.
