66% of Nonprofits Expect IT Spending to Increase in 2004

Nov 25, 2003

A recent nonprofit survey finds that 66% of respondents indicate their organization plans to increase their technology budget in 2004, while only 34% believe that their IT spending will be less in 2004 than in 2003. The Web poll was conducted by software as a service provider Kintera Inc. from October 16 through November 7, 2003. Last year, 43% of the nonprofits surveyed in a Kintera poll expected their technology expenditures to increase in 2003. The study also found that "ePhilanthropy" is a rapidly growing trend, with people who contribute once online more likely to do so again based on ease of use, convenience, and instant acknowledgment.
