LexisNexis Introduces Total Search v.4.0
Posted Feb 03, 2006 Print Version   Page 1 of 1

LexisNexis, a provider of legal, news, and business information services, has introduced Total Search version 4.0. LexisNexis Total Search v.4.0 is an integrated search tool designed to allow researchers to use the precision searching capabilities of the lexis.com service to simultaneously search LexisNexis content and the firm's internal collection of relevant and useful work product. Linking between internal content and LexisNexis analytical and primary law materials is designed to enhance the researcher's experience. In addition, integration of real-time Shepard's Signal indicators to both internal and external documents through LexisNexis Total Search can assure legal professionals that their arguments rely on precedent.

With the introduction of LexisNexis Total Search v.4.0, legal professionals can leverage additional sources of internal intellectual capital through two new modules: Total Search Transactional and Total Search Expertise. Total Search Transactional expands the reach into law firms that are looking for internal work product solutions for their deal and transactional practice areas. This module enables legal professionals to access prior deal documents. With Total Search Transactional, users find relevant documents and clauses to aid them in creating new work product.

The second new module Total Search Expertise leverages multiple sources of information to locate and highlight firm expertise or know-how. The module provides the ability for users to share information across the firm about "who knows whom" and "who knows what." In addition to tapping into multiple sources of internal work product, Total Search Expertise can also integrate with the firm's LexisNexis Interface Software, a provider of Client Relationship Management software and services which enable firms to create the Relationship Intelligence they need to uncover new business opportunities and enhance client service.
