Alfresco Software, an open source alternative for enterprise content management, announced that Adobe has implemented Alfresco’s document sharing and collaboration capabilities as part of the file sharing features in Acrobat.com. Acrobat.com is a set of free online services--file sharing and storage, PDF conversion, online word processing, and web conferencing--that can be used to create and share documents, communicate in real time, and collaborate within and between organizations and individuals. Alfresco’s open source content management software is used as the file repository in Acrobat.com, which allows users to share files and documents while maintaining control of those documents.
