Ovid Technologies, a Wolters Kluwer business and global provider in electronic medical, scientific, and academic information research solutions, has announced new partnerships with Blackwell Publishing, Elsevier Bibliographic Databases, McGraw-Hill, Nature Publishing Group, and Oxford University Press (USA). As part of its strategy to expand content offerings, Ovid has entered into a product planning and development agreement with Primal Pictures with the intention to distribute 3-dimensional anatomy images on the Ovid platform.
Ovid will add more than 60 medical and nursing journals from Blackwell, a society publisher, increasing to more than 250 the total that will be available on Journals@Ovid. Ovid is also the exclusive provider of Elsevier's EMBiology life science database, which contains more than four million international bibliographic records dating back to 1980. Eight Nature Clinical Practice journals in oncology, cardiology, and other specialties, published by Nature Publishing Group, will soon be available on Journals@Ovid. With internationally known advisory boards and editorial boards, these journals discuss key research developments, translating the findings into clinical practice. The Group's flagship journal, Nature, is a multi-disciplinary scientific journal.
More than 20 dictionaries and encyclopedia in technology, science, and engineering from McGraw-Hill are launching on Books@Ovid, Ovid's ebook product. Books@Ovid will also feature more than 30 reference works and textbooks in all areas of psychology from Oxford University Press. In addition, Ovid has entered into a partnership agreement with Primal Pictures, an anatomy image resource company. Based on this understanding, Ovid and Primal would develop a distribution agreement for end-users to access three-dimensional images that are relevant to and further supplement the content they're viewing on the Ovid platform.
