Job Description

The Department of English at Clemson University seeks to hire two tenure-track faculty—one assistant professor and one possibly advanced assistant or associate professor, pending funding—in Digital Rhetorics, Comparative Media and Civic Culture, to begin Fall, 2014. Applicants should have interests or background in one or more of the following areas: writing across the curriculum, writing program administration, digital or visual rhetorics, public rhetorics, digital media and film, professional writing, or related areas that enhance current strengths of the faculty. The English Department offers BAs in Literature and in Writing and Publication Studies, MAs in English and in Professional Communication, and participates in the interdisciplinary Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design doctoral program. The department also contributes to the activities of the Pearce Center for Professional Communication, home to many of Clemson’s WAC initiatives. Clemson University was again cited this year by US News and World Report for an emphasis on Writing in the Disciplines. The successful candidates will provide leadership and vision while collaborating with current faculty to develop emergent initiatives and programs.

Qualifications

 

Applicants should have interests or background in one or more of the following areas:  writing across the curriculum, writing program administration, digital or visual rhetorics, public rhetorics, digital media and film, professional writing, or related areas that enhance current strengths of the faculty.

Must have Ph.D in hand by August 1, 2014.

 

Candidates must have the MFA or PhD in-hand by August 1, 2014. For full consideration, applications must be received by October 15, 2013.
