In a global economy where 70 percent of the world does not speak English, precise communications across the "other 70 percent languages" can mean the difference between business success and failure. Surprisingly, translation has remained a largely manual process - one that deters businesses with perceived notions of cost and complexity. But, in a global economy, translation technology needs to be thought of as part of an organization's core technology stack - much like Salesforce and marketing automation. If you can't translate your content efficiently, you can't do business globally.

Reading and learning go hand-in-hand; the two sides of the coin. But when it comes to technology solutions, there are Content Management Solutions and there are Learning Management Solutions. With mobile technology driving content consumption and learning behavior, publishers and educators have exciting and challenging times ahead. Anywhere-anytime-access to content and learning material is a given. What differentiates the leaders from the rest is their ability to consistently offer engaging and easy-to-access learning content. The line between eBooks and eLearning is blurring; students want integrated content to adapt to their needs and their pace of learning. eBooks need to be smarter, offer built-in exercises, assessments and ancillaries. eLearning courses need to include all reading material and ancillaries. Looking at these evolving learning needs, it is evident that the future belongs to smart content creators who deliver books, ancillaries, assessments and all interactive learning modules packaged cohesively as a single integrated learning resource that adapts to each individual learner. The solutions and platforms should be adaptive enough to deliver this smart content. Impelsys has invested heavily over the years to build advanced content delivery solutions to meet these very needs of students and publishers.

Since 1998 iCopyright has been helping publishers protect, promote, and monetize digital content on the Web.The founding vision of iCopyright was to build the copyright platform of the 21st Century, leveraging the power of the Web to distribute content freely and widely while protecting owners' copyrights. We recognized that sharing content "freely and widely" posed both problems and opportunities, and we resolved to make the reuse and republication of content safe for copyright owners and instant and easy for users.

They say data is the "oil" of the 21st century - raw material that, when extracted, refined, and "manufactured" into information products and analytic insights-will drive our economy to new heights. It follows, then, that information products companies need to think about what they do in the same way that manufacturers of tangible goods do: as a process that requires a flow of inputs, a manufacturing plant, and a delivery system. And data products manufacturers must make this data supply chain as efficient, cost-effective, reliable, and flexible as possible.

While most of the publishing industry has been focused on the rapid changes from print to digital business models, many have missed the quiet evolution of content management systems that have helped transform the publishing ecosystem. Without this evolution, publishers today would not be able to satisfy their multi-channel publishing goals. The shift from very profitable print revenue to the lower margin digital products has been a driving force to automate the production workflow as much as possible and content management systems (CMS) have needed to adapt and scale to manage many types of content.

I began my journey in web content creation in 1999. I was a young web developer that was asked to develop a website for the Winter Racing Carnival. It was a large site with over 150 events, dozens of venues and lots of news to update throughout the year. The last thing I wanted was to do this manually!

Access Innovations began like many entrepreneurial enterprises—with a great idea, a few energetic people, and a little bit of capital. Incorporated in October 1978, the company's first headquarters was the kitchen of President Marjorie M.K. Hlava's Albuquerque home. The original product was to be a database of solar energy information and resources. It soon became clear, however, that the database building process was of more value to potential customers than the database itself.
