Socialtext, the creator of SocialPoint, announced the new version of its enterprise social software platform will include two communications capabilities that are able to be integrated into Microsoft SharePoint. Through Socialtext Signals, customers can engage in enterprise microblogging within SharePoint.

Ex Libris Group announced the release of version 2.0 of the Rosetta digital preservation system. Rosetta 2.0 is currently live at the National Library of New Zealand and will be rolled out to all Rosetta customers over the course of 2010.

Cenveo, Inc. entered an agreement to acquire Glyph International from Infomedia 18 Limited. Glyph, which operates in New Delhi and Bangalore, India, as well as in London and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., specializes in full suite content production, from project management through editorial, composition, artwork, and XML creation.

Thomas the Train had a vision ("I think I can, I think I can"), never let obstacles get in his way, stayed focused on his goal and eventually realized success! As I looked across the landscape of this year's Open Government and Innovations (OGI) Conference held this week in Washington, D.C. , it became apparent there were more Thomas-train types than the doubting Thomases I talked to last year. Like Penn Station at rush hour, the ballroom at the Grand Hyatt was jammed as people listened, tweeted and tapped their keyboards to spread the message of the keynote speaker, Cory Ondrejka, co-creator of Second Life, whose message was like a trumpet sounding the cry for government to become more open and agile. To those present, he seemed to say, "You can, You can, You can."

Nordic River announced TextFlow Desktop, an update to its TextFlow solution, that gives users of Microsoft Word and Open Office a way to collaborate and dynamically review documents with complete control over the work process. Earlier TextFlow releases deleted images and tables before merging, creating the task of replacing them within the final document once all editing was completed.
