Forbes Media announced that Investopedia, the company's financial education web site, is being offered for sale. The Edmonton-based firm was acquired by Forbes Media in 2007 and offers financial and investor education through a financial dictionary with over 9,000 terms used in personal finance, banking, and accounting.

News Corp. announced the acquisition of Skiff, an electronic reading platform developed by the Hearst Corporation. Financial terms of the Skiff acquisition were not disclosed, but come on the heels of News Corp.'s continued moves towards monetizing its digital content. The company also announced a significant investment in Journalism Online.

The French 3D and product lifecycle management (PLM) provider Dassault Systèmes (DS) announced the acquisition of Exalead, a provider of search platforms and search-based applications (SBA) for consumer and business users. The deal is worth approximately €135 million (about $161.8 million).

Autonomy Corporation plc, a provider of infrastructure software, and CA Technologies have announced Autonomy's intention to acquire CA Technologies Information Governance business. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. CA Technologies Information Governance employees will join Autonomy.

A new company, CityGrid Media, opened for business, replacing the former Citysearch, LLC. The newly-named company aims to provide local advertising organizations to web and mobile publishers through its CityGrid network. CityGrid aggregates more than 700,000 localized paying advertisers from sites like DexKnows.com, and reaches 140 million internet users through various connections.

Comtex News Network, Inc.'s stockholders approved a 1-for-1,000 reverse stock split of the Company's common stock and the cashout of stockholders holding fewer than 1,000 shares. The proposals needed the support of 90% of the company's shareholders in order to pass.

Technology publisher Ziff Davis Media has been acquired by former Time Inc. executive Vivek Shah in partnership with Boston-based Great Hill Partners. According to The Wall Street Journal, Shah and his partners paid in the neighborhood of $150 million for the company.

Yippy, Inc. announced its new company name and a stock symbol change. Previously known as Cinnabar Ventures, Inc., Yippy, Inc. will henceforth use the stock symbol YIPI. San Mateo-based startup Sharegrove announced that it has been acquired by social networking giant Facebook. Sharegrove is a group chatting client that provides a way for online friends to have private conversations through the web, including sharing of websites and various forms of multimedia. It also featured built-in search functions and Facebook friends list interconnectivity.

Oracle announced the acquisition of the intellectual property assets of Market2Lead, a provider of demand generation and marketing automation software. Market2Lead's technology helps companies improve demand generation to increase sales and marketing effectiveness. Oracle announced that it plans to integrate Market2Lead's technology into Oracle CRM applications.

KIT digital, Inc. executed a definitive agreement to acquire Sinigapore-based Benchmark Broadcast Systems Pte. Ltd.
