Electronic publisher Alexander Street Press announced plans to launch an integrated online repository of academic video titles. Alexander Street plans to expand its offerings to include more than 10,000 titles in 2011, followed by a further expansion to 20,000 titles by 2013. The integrated online repository, Academic Video Online Complete, will also let subscribers cross-search videos throughout the platform from a single interface.

EasyBib.com, an online citation and note taking service, added a website evaluation tool that can help researchers identify authoritative and reliable sources. EasyBib analyzed the top 50% most-used websites for research and can now provide alerts to EasyBib users about which sources are credible to cite, which aren't, and which are somewhere in between.

ZoomInfo has released a plug-in that finds active business contacts in users' email messages and automatically uploads the information to the ZoomInfo B2B directory. Users who install the plug-in receive free access to the ZoomInfo B2B Database. According the company, the Community Edition improves the "contacts for content" market by simplifying the contact-sharing process.

Last spring, Google found itself on the receiving end of a fair amount of consternation from the technology press, privacy advocates, and several European countries. German officials accused the search giant of using its ubiquitous Street View cars to do more than merely snap those unsettling panoramic shots of your house and neighborhood. Those official Google vehicles were also collecting "samples of payload data from WiFi networks," Google admitted in April on its official blog, in response to the accusation.

LogMeIn, Inc., has introduced a new version of their app LogMeIn Ignition, which combines remote control with file management to let users view, transfer, and save files between their computers and iOS mobile devices. In the updated app, users can remotely move, edit, and organize files directly from their iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

In further SXSW news, USA TODAY announced two new APIs at the Austin-based event. The APIs let developers construct custom feeds of USA TODAY's music, movie, and book reviews going back as far as 2004, and can also provide access to a customized feed of USA TODAY Snapshots, easy-to-read statistical graphics that present information on different issues and trends.

IBM announced its $38 million investment in the new IBM Asia Pacific Cloud Computing Data Center in Singapore, which aims to provide businesses with cloud computing solutions and services. The facility, which is scheduled to launch in April, will extend IBM's global network and make its cloud services and technology portfolio available through the cloud delivery infrastructure.
