ebrary, an information services and technology provider, has announced that several new collections specifically for government and military libraries are now available through the ebrary Dynamic Content Platform (DCP). The new collections include Business, Management & Leadership, Computers, Technology & Engineering, International Relations & Military Affairs, Government Affairs, and Science & Environmental Studies. Additionally, ebrary has announced that it is seeking pilot customers for its new, server-based technology, which will ship in Q3 2005.

ProQuest Information and Learning has acquired ExploreLearning, producers of an online simulation library for math and science education. ExploreLearning operations will remain in Charlottesville, Virginia. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

ProQuest Information and Learning, a provider of digital content from the 19th century, will digitize the full run of the British House of Commons Parliamentary Papers from 1801 to 1900 for release later this year. It will become part of ProQuest’s continuing program to support 19th-century scholarship, joining the Nineteenth Century Short Title Catalogue (NSTC), the bibliographic spine of the program, and other new resources.

Blackwell Publishing has announced the launch of a new service, Online Open, which offers authors the opportunity to make their articles freely available to all users of the internet in perpetuity on payment of a publication fee. The new Online Open service will be on trial through to the end of 2006.

Previously available only through subject-specific collections, Wiley InterScience OnlineBooks are now available through two options: the "One Time Fee Option" and the "Flexi-Subscription Option."

Xrefer and A&C Black have announced that Who's Who 2005 and the full Who's Who archive Who Was Who are now available to search and browse on the xreferplus Specialist Reference platform. Who's Who is a U.K.-based annual resource for information on people of influence and interest. It was first published in 1849 and contains over 30,000 biographies of people from all walks of life. Institutions where libraries purchase access to Who's Who 2005 online via xrefer will enable their users to search and browse for anyone whose biography has been included in the latest edition of the reference work.

FamPat is based on PlusPat, Questel.Orbit's international patent database. The FamPat patent family design groups together the patent records from the countries and patent issuing authorities in which protection for one particular invention has been applied for and/or granted.
