Designed as an online learning environment, Biography in Context delivers content designed to build collaboration from the library to the classroom.

The Consortium Directory, originally published by Frontline GMS Ltd will become available as an online database in partnership with Ringgold Inc, creating a unique resource for the information industry. The new Directory, renamed the Consortium Directory Online (CDO) will include over 600 library consortia in 100 countries.

Dow Jones Investment Banker launched DJIBanker.com, a web service which will deliver Dow Jones Investment Banker's news, opinion, research, and data visualization to an online audience. Dow Jones Investment Banker is also available for integration into proprietary client portals as well as the FactSet platform.

Every month, two selected full-text articles from ITI's library of journals will appear on ILO.

ProQuest has digitized a National Security Archive collection on U.S.-Korean relations, expanding the Digital National Security Archives (DNSA) database series. Available for purchase now, The United States and the Two Koreas: 1969-2000 covers diplomatic, security, and economic relations between the United States and its ally, South Korea, as well as challenges to the U.S. posed by North Korea.

Online reference library Credo Reference is adding a Publisher Collection from Ashgate. Fifteen comprehensive specialty titles will soon be available on the Credo Reference platform. The Publisher Collection will include Ashgate Companion and Ashgate Research Companion titles to works such as Contemporary Philosophy of Physics, Ethics and International Relations, Federalism, and Heritage and Identity.

Among the features that Justis Publishing reports have been most improved by this latest upgrade are speculative keyword searches, intuitive information page displays, and links to third-party databases.

Capital IQ, a division of McGraw-Hill Standard & Poor's business unit, announced an agreement to acquire TheMarkets.com, a competitor in the financial data and analytics market. Financial terms were not disclosed for the transaction, although the Wall Street Journal reported that the transaction was conducted for $300 million based on unidentified sources.

Serials Solutions announced the integration of content from Thomson Reuters' Web of Science with its own Summon information discovery service. The integration will enable the display of citation counts in Summon search results for ISI Web of Knowledge SM subscribers, which will help researchers identify the highest-impact articles in a given search.

OECD has launched OECD iLibrary, a new research platform allowing for comprehensive access to statistics, books, journals, and working papers. OECD iLibrary replaces SourceOECD, and OECD reports that the new platform will host all content equally so that users are able to cite tables and databases as easily as chapters and articles.

BioMed Central's BMC Research Notes journal announced that it is commissioning a large, ongoing collection of educational articles that outline procedures for data sharing. The goal of the collection is to provide researchers with best practice guidelines for sharing and publishing data, thereby encouraging data sharing in the scientific community and allowing for more data to be re-used.

FIZ CHEMIE reported that it has, with the help of InfoChem's data-mining technologies, digitized the contents of the oldest abstracts journal published in the field of chemistry, Chemisches Zentralblatt. The journal was published for about 140 years beginning in the early 19th century, highlighting research progress in pharmaceutical science and chemistry.

SAGE announced that, with the support of HighWire 2.0 (H20) technology, it has completed the migration of its more than 560 journals to next generation of SAGE Journals Online. Some enhancements included with this latest iteration of SAGE Journals Online include advanced search across more than 50 disciplines, pop-up previews of article abstracts, and the ability to hide certain features (such as author affiliations and related links) from view.

EBSCO Publishing has added text-to-speech functionality to EBSCOhost databases by embedding Texthelp Systems' SpeechStream toolbar. Aimed at users ranging from English language learners to people with vision impairments, the SpeechStream toolbar allows text to be read aloud by a computerized voice whose accent-American, British, or Australian-can be set by the individual.
