Socialtext has hired Brian Bailard as the company's new vice president of sales. Bailard has more than 20 years of experience in sales and executive management and will report directly to Eugene Lee, Socialtext's CEO. Bailard previously served as senior vice president of global sales at Lyris, and has additional experience with BDNA Corporation, Quovera, and Thomson Reuters.

Publishing Technology has appointed Mark Carden as its new executive vice president of global sales and marketing, in which capacity he will be responsible for Publishing Technology's global business development. Carden has spent the past 15 years managing international sales teams, most recently as the senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Ingram Digital. He has also filled similar roles at Innovative Interfaces, Dynix, and OCLC.

Author-it Software Corporation has appointed Todd Caponi to the position of vice president of global sales. Caponi is an award-winning expert in revenue capacity for high growth companies, and most recently served as vice president of worldwide sales for Right Hemisphere. Caponi was the 2009 recipient of the American Business "Stevie" Award for Vice President of Worldwide Sales.
