Content delivery and IP services developer Highwinds announced the appointment of Steve Liddell as the company's new president of content delivery and network services. Liddell has more than three decades of experience in international telecommunications and content delivery and previously served as CEO of Panther Express and as an independent consultant for a variety of private equity and venture capital firms.
[x+1] announced three new hires to its management time. Christopher Black, formerly with Sears Media Holdings, joins the company as its new vice president of client solutions. Black has developed retail strategies for brands such as Kenmore, Craftsman, and Diehard, and will be based out of the company's Chicago office.
Lewis Steckler will join [x+1] as its director of client strategy. Most recently, Steckler served as director of strategy and business development at social media targeting firm Media6Degrees. He holds a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from the Columbia Business School.
Finally, Ben Riley has been promoted to senior manager of client solutions. Riley was previous a media sales executive with the company, and previously served as an account executive with Advertising.com.
Matthew Papakipos, an engineering director at Google and the leader of the Chrone OS project, has been hired away from the search giant by Facebook. Papakipos joined Google in 2007 and, in addition to Chrome, was involved in the development of the WebGL 3D graphics API. His past experience also includes positions with Nvidia and PeakStream.
