Getty Images, Inc. appointed Bart Catalane as its new chief financial officer. Catalane has more than 25 years of experience in financial and operating management and has worked with a variety of media companies, including webloyalty.com, LIN Television Corporation, Ziff Davis Media, and ABC. Catalane will be based in New York and will report directly to Jonathan Klein, co-founder and CEO.
Google hired BBC News' head of development and rights, Madhav Chinnappa. Chinnappa will join Google's partnerships team for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a specific focus on Google News. Chinnappa joins another former BBC employee hired in recent years: BBC editor Peter Barron, who was hired by the search company in 2008. Chinnappa previously served as a business manager with Associated Press Television News and UBM. He had been with the BBC since 2001.
