netomat, inc., a provider of communication software and network-based art, has announced Web-based software that is designed to allow anyone to create collaborative Web pages in three steps. No downloads are required and templates are provided. netomat 1.0 Web allows colleagues, friends, and family to create shared Web pages and to combine digital pictures, various files, text, freeform drawing, and animations into personal multimedia Web pages. After a netomat is created, invitees can modify the netomat, adding their own photos, words, sketches, files, and more. The core innovation underlying the netomat service is a new XML-based language called nml (netomatic mark-up language). Free accounts are available online.
