YouTube to Roll Out 96 Original-Content, Professional-Grade Channels

YouTube will be expanding its current channel line-up with a mass of professional-grade, original content in areas such as news and education, lifestyle, music, sports, and pop culture.

Thomson Reuters, Hearst Magazines, The Wall Street Journal, and TEDEducation are among the 96 currently-listed partners in the new project, which range from media companies to content producers of the news, TV, film, music, and sports industries.

The first of these channels will appear on YouTube next month, with more being added throughout 2012. Channels will be available on any internet-connected device with all standard interactivity and social features included.
