XinLab, Inc. has announced the release of its Java Mobile Media Processor (JMMP), designed to aid mobile service operators in their roll-out of value added services such as mobile messaging management solutions. Xinlab's JMMP is a lightweight, Java-based software package that processes 3GPP video files. It runs in all major JVM/J2EE environments and can be integrated in J2EE servers. XinLab's JMMP also supports video transcoding such as converting from MP4 to 3GP or 3GP to MP4. Additionally, JMMP facilitates server-side queries, processing, and editing of mobile media such as 3GP and MP4 files. It can extract important media information such as frame images based on frame number, or key frames based on video scene change. Other features include video and audio editing and thumbnail generation.
