WebWare Corporation has debuted WebWare ActiveMedia 4, an upgrade of its flagship digital asset management software (formerly WebWare MAMBO). ActiveMedia 4, a Web services-based digital asset management system, is designed to allow companies to integrate a rich media repository with other enterprise applications built on BEA's WebLogic or IBM's WebSphere systems. Its new user interface, One-Click Access (OCA) enables the creation of business-specific interfaces that can be tailored to individual users, departments, or projects. WebWare ActiveMedia can be used as a stand-alone media asset management system or integrated with existing ECM software such as Interwoven's TeamSite. Current WebWare customers include Boeing, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Charles Schwab, BBDO Detroit, E*TRADE, National Football League, National Geographic and Scripps Networks. ActiveMedia 4 provides a solution for integrating rich media content into Web content management systems, sales and marketing portals, multi-channel content distribution systems, and ecommerce portals. ActiveMedia 4 is intended to accelerate the creation, approval, transformation, and delivery of rich media: MS Office documents, images, illustrations, layouts, video, Flash, etc. ActiveMedia 4 features include: full text search across multiple file types; visual annotation of image files and single-page PDF; automatic ingest and indexing of MS-Office documents; Interwoven TeamSite plug-in; Adobe Graphic Server transformation engine; new user interface; and enhanced video support and capabilities. ActiveMedia can be installed locally or hosted at WebWare's secure data center. The new release is backward compatible with WebWare 3.X systems and is currently shipping.
