WebLib Develops Application for Elsevier's SciVerse Applications

Dec 14, 2010

Elsevier and WebLib announced that a new application, HealthMash, is now available on the SciVerse Applications beta. WebLib developed the HealthMash application to provide insights to scientific researchers with relevant biomedical concepts related to their searches including disorders, tests, diagnoses, treatments, and drugs. The application uses a variety of semantic technologies and natural language processing tools.

HealthMash is powered by WebLib's proprietary Health Knowledge Base, which is automatically generated from trusted health content sites, special semantic sources such as the National Library of Medicine's Medical Subject Headings Thesaurus, and the Unified Medical Language System, as well as information from the Web.

HealthMash is the 17th application to be added to the SciVerse Applications beta marketplace, all of which are designed to improve researcher workflow and enhance the content within SciVerse.
