Namo Interactive Inc. has released WebEditor 5.5, an HTML authoring tool for designing, managing, and deploying high-impact Web sites. The WebEditor 5.5 is marketed competition for Macromedia Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage. A new built-in feature is WebCanvas 1.0, a vector-based Web graphic drawing tool for creating graphic images, as well as creating "smart-buttons." It enables in-browser preview of SVG files and image export to SVG and leading bitmap formats. It is designed to help users create and manage all site resources from within a unified environment. WebEditor 5.5's page-creation tools include a full WYSIWYG editing environment, automatic creation of layout tables, JavaScript actions and events, and a database wizard. Namo WebEditor also features a JavaScript Wizard, a Site Wizard for beginners, a photo album creator, and online help. WebEditor 5.5 is available and at retailers including CompUSA, Fry's Electronics, and J&R Computer World. It has a suggested retail price of $99.
