Volantis, a supplier of Intelligent Content Adaptation solutions, has delivered its latest version of its Mobile Content Storefront to customers. Storefront is a solution designed to enable wireless carriers and content providers to merchandize mobile content, optimized for more than 3,600 2G, 2.5G, and 3G mobile devices covering GSM, GPRS, UMTS/WCDMA, and CDMA2000 wireless standards. With flexible purchasing options, Storefront is available as either a Volantis managed service or as a licensed solution, with migration between these two deployment models.
This latest generation of the Storefront application encompasses a number of new features, including: end-user personalization, which allows pages to render personal information relevant to the subscriber; identifying them by first, last, or nickname, gender and date of birth, and informing the consumer of their subscription status; comprehensive logging capabilities to assist consumers' understanding of their services more effectively; and subscription-based access restriction, which hides links from non-subscribers designed to ensure better security. Volantis expects to announce further updates to Storefront in early 2007.
Volantis has also launched its GetBuzz Partner Program. GetBuzz is designed to enable Volantis technology partners to offer carriers presentation of subscriber-preference content directly on the mobile device, based on each partner's user interface (UI) client solution. BuzzCast supports the creation of subscriber UIs in a range of technologies supported by Volantis' partners to suit each carrier's device strategy, including support for AJAX, RSS Client, Flash, J2ME, BREW, Microsoft Mobile, and native Symbian.
