Advertising network VideoEgg is planning to acquire blogging and advertising network Six Apart . Following the acquisition, the newly-formed combined company will change its name to SAY Media, which will be headed up by former VideoEgg CEO Matt Sanchez. Chris Alden, CEO of Six Apart, will step down.
According to information released by the companies, the new venture's goal will be to pair Six Apart's social network with VideoEgg's ad technology. The two companies claim to be able to reach a combined 345 unique consumers, citing comScore evaluations of each individual company.
In conjunction with the acquisition, Six Apart is shutting down its Vox blogging network. It will, however, continue supporting its Typepad and Movable Type blogging platforms.
