Venetica, a provider of content integration software, has secured $7.0 million in Series A funding from Charles River Ventures and General Catalyst Partners. The company, which is already profitable, will use the investment in the areas of sales, marketing, and engineering. Venetica's flagship product, VeniceBridge, is designed to provide a consistent, bi-directional point of access to content regardless of how or where it is stored. VeniceBridge also makes distributed content appear as if it lives in one virtual repository created for a specific purpose or business context.
