Vamosa, developer of the Vamosa range of content migration and content engineering software, has completed a £1.5million first round funding package, led by Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking. Funds raised will be used to enhance and extend Vamosa's presence within the unstructured data management (UDM) market, through corporate expansions plans and building on its automated content migration solution, Vamosa Content Migrator. Vamosa is the software business of Marcat Ltd, which was originally formed in 1997 to provide Web-based services to the government and medium enterprise sector.

In addition to the funding secured, parent company, Marcat, has appointed John Pocock, the former managing director of Druid, to the newly created position of chairman. In conjunction with the management team, led by CEO George Knox, Pocock will be responsible for building the Marcat business and Vamosa brand, locally and globally.
