University Of British Columbia Selects Voyager, Encompass

Endeavor Information Systems has announced that the University of British Columbia (UBC) Library, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, selected the Voyager integrated library management system and the ENCompass system for managing, searching, and linking digital collections including the ENCompass Course Content Integrator for elearning integration. At UBC, Voyager will manage over 3.1 million volumes. Voyager replaces the DRA Classic system, which was implemented by the Library in 1996. UBC plans to launch Voyager in May 2004. In addition to Voyager, the UBC Library also selected the Voyager Automated Retrieval System interface for use in The Irving K. Barber Leaning Centre at UBC, which will include an automated storage facility. The UBC Library supports 39,000 students and 12,000 faculty through ten on-campus and four off-campus library locations.
