U.S. DoD Selects Jabber for Net-Centric Collaboration Services

Jabber Inc. has announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), a Department of Defense (DoD) combat support agency, has selected the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform (Jabber XCP) for instant messaging (IM), low-bandwidth text chat, and persistent multi-user chat rooms for personnel across the DoD. The one-year contract with two optional years was awarded to Carahsoft Technology Corp., a government IT solutions provider, and is valued at $22 million. Carahsoft will work in partnership with Jabber, Adobe Systems Inc., SAIC, and SRA for this contract.
