Twitter is adding right-to-left languages to the Twitter Translation Center, beginning with Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, and Urdu. These four will become fully available later this spring, the company said. However, speakers of a language other than English are already able to tweet in their language of choice.
Both tweets and hashtags will work in right-to-left languages, the company said. Twitter also said it's "made changes behind the scenes to give right-to-left language speakers a localized user experience," although specific changes were not disclosed. Twitter is currently available in 22 languages, all of which are read from left to right.
